Entertainment & Innovation Forum Breaks Ground With Dialogue on New Media and Entertainment
LOS ANGELES…The first look ever at the convergence of new media and multicultural film/content was held September 24th and 25th at UCLA's Fowler Museum. Entitled "The Entertainment & Innovation Forum" presented by Warner Bros and produced by Punch Media Group, the two-night Forum offered exclusive panels covering new media marketing of multicultural film and content. The Forum also addressed the effects of new media distribution platforms on this fast-growing market.
Speakers included Sara Pollack, Global Marketing Manager of Film & Animation at You Tube Google; Alix Baudin, VP of Business Development at BET Interactive; Jared Lake, a prominent agent at the William Morris Agency; and Brett Bouttier, SVP of Digital, Warner Bros. Television Group; among several others. The panels were conceived of and moderated by Punch Media Group president, Lauren Coleman.
Attendees ranged from directors to marketers, who witnessed a lively discussion regarding the challenges and opportunities of reaching today's African-American and Latino audiences over digital and wireless platforms. A particularly pertinent topic, since statistics show these demographics to be the largest adopters of new media platforms.
Following each night's panels executives and attendees networked and continued to exchange dialogue at a cocktail lounge, sponsored by Diageo brands Don Julio Tequila and Smirnoff Vodka.
Additionally, complimenting the new media theme of the Forum, a Bluetooth Proximity Promotion was conducted by Punch Media Group during the cocktail lounge. Attendees had the opportunity to receive special WB.com stills via Bluetooth enabled phones compatible with the Punch Media device.
In all, The Entertainment & Innovation Forum proved to be a timely event and provided a venue for a much-needed discussion.
